Ulutham Kali / உளுத்தம் களி

My mother first gave me ulutham kali after I went through puberty. It’s common in our culture for women to eat this while on their menstrual cycle to help improve bone strength. Black gram flour is rich in minerals (magnesium, phosphorus, iron, potassium, and calcium) that help strengthen bone mineral density.

I loved this stuff, so my mom made it for me often growing up. It’s a healthy meal you can enjoy regardless of your sex. You may disagree on the taste, but give it a try first!
