Maravalli Kilangu Poriyal / Cassava Chips / மரவள்ளிக்கிழங்கு பொரியல்

Maravalli Kilangu Poriyal is made by frying sliced yams and then coating them with chili powder and salt. These homemade chips can be eaten alone or with rice.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 Cassava (மரவள்ளிக்கிழங்கு)
  • Chili Powder (சிவப்பு மிளகாய்த்தூள்)
  • Salt (உப்பு)
  • Oil (எண்ணெய்)

Instructions
 

  • Remove the brown exterior on the cassava.
  • Peel the white interior flesh into thin pieces.
  • Fry the peeled pieces in oil.
  • Let the chips dry on paper towel. Dry out the oil a bit as well.
  • Add chili pepper and salt and mix well. Add to your liking, but don't add too much salt. The oil tends to make the chips saltier after it sits.
