Malli Thani / மல்லி தண்ணீர்
I drink malli thani whenever I’m sick (cold, flu, etc.). I even drank malli thani after both my covid vaccine doses 🙂
Coriander, black pepper, cumin, and ginger are loaded with antioxidants that can help boost your immune system.
Malli Thani
Ingredients
- 2/3 cup Coriander Seeds (மல்லி)
- 1/2 tsp Black Pepper (மிளகு)
- 1 tsp Cumin Seeds (சின்னசீரகம்)
- 1 Ginger (இஞ்சி) Use as little or much as you'd like
- 2 cups Water (தண்ணீர்)
- Sugar (சீனி) Optional – I grew up drinking mali thani with sugar, but it's a lot healthier to drink without it!
Instructions
- Put all ingredients in a pot and boil
- After the water boils, let the spices soak in the water for about 10 minutes
- Use a tea strainer to pour yourself a healthy cup of malli thani. Add sugar if desired.
- The spices can be reused 2-3 times by adding more water and repeating steps 1-3
