Kale Varai / பரட்டைக்கீரை வறை
Kale Varai is a healthy mix made of kale and spices that can be enjoyed with rice for lunch! Kale is filled with vitamins, calcium, antioxidants, and fiber.
Kale Varai
Ingredients
- 1 bunch Kale (கீரை)
- ½ Medium Red Onion (வெங்காயம்)
- Oil (எண்ணெய்)
- 3-5 Curry Leaves (கறிவேப்பிலை)
- Fennel Seeds (பெருஞ்சீரகம்)
- Mustard Seeds (கடுகு)
- 2 Dried Red Chili Peppers (செத்தல் மிளகாய்)
- ¼ cup Grated Coconut (தேங்காய்ப்பூ)
- ¼ tsp Salt (உப்பு)
Instructions
- Cut the kale and dice the onions.
- Cook onions in a pan with a little bit of oil, a pinch of fennel seeds, a pinch of mustard seeds, and curry leaves.
- Once the onions turn a golden color, add 2 dried red chili peppers (broken into small pieces). Mix well and cook for about a minute.
- Add the kale and mix well.
- After kale is fully cooked, add salt and grated coconut. Mix well and continue mixing while it cooks to avoid it burning.
- Once kale and coconut are fully cooked, serve and enjoy!
