Banana Roti / வாழைப்பழம் ரோட்டி

Banana roti is a great snack to enjoy with your afternoon tea. A good alternative for when you have ripe bananas and don’t want to make another banana bread.


Banana Roti

Cook Time 10 minutes
Servings 6 rotis

Ingredients
  

  • 1.5 cups All Purpose Flour (கோதுமை மா)
  • ¾ cup Grated Coconut  (தேங்காய்ப்பூ) Freshly grated coconut will taste better than the frozen version
  • ¼ tsp Salt (உப்பு)
  • 1 Large Banana (வாழைப்பழம்)
  • cup Sugar (சீனி)
  • cup Water (தண்ணீர்)

Instructions
 

  • Mash the banana(s) in a bowl
  • Add salt, grated coconut, sugar, and flour to bowl. Mix well
  • Slowly add water. Add as needed to get a consistency that is thick, but not stick.
  • Make small balls out of the dough and then flatten them into circular shapes
  • Cook the rotis on a pan with light oil on medium-high heat. Cook each side for about 2 minutes
