Okra Milk Curry / வெண்டைக்காய் பால் கறி

Okra milk curry is flavorful, mild curry made with okras as the main base. It’s very simple to make with only a few ingredients that can be cooked all at once.

Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup Okra (வெண்டைக்காய்)
  • 1 Green Chili Pepper (மிளகாய்)
  • ¼ tsp Salt (உப்பு)
  • ½ Medium Sized Onion (வெங்காயம்)
  • Lemon Juice (எலுமிச்சை சாறு)
  • ¼ cup Coconut Milk (தேங்காய்ப்பால்)
  • ¼ cup Water (தண்ணீர்)

Instructions
 

  • Cut the okra, slice the onion, and dice the chili pepper.
  • Put the okra, onions, and chili pepper in a pot with water, coconut milk, and salt. Use a fork to mix (to avoid smushing the okra) and cook on medium heat without a lid. Keep everything somewhat flat to let the steam cook the veggies.
  • After it comes to a boil, lower the heat and let it simmer to continue cooking the veggies.
  • After the okra is cooked (can smush a bit if you poke it with a fork), add about a tsp of coconut milk. Add salt for taste. Cook for about 1 min and then transfer to a serving bowl.
  • Squeeze some lemon juice and mix directly before serving. Enjoy!
