Banana Roti / வாழைப்பழம் ரோட்டி
Banana roti is a great snack to enjoy with your afternoon tea. A good alternative for when you have ripe bananas and don’t want to make another banana bread.
Banana Roti
Ingredients
- 1.5 cups All Purpose Flour (கோதுமை மா)
- ¾ cup Grated Coconut (தேங்காய்ப்பூ) Freshly grated coconut will taste better than the frozen version
- ¼ tsp Salt (உப்பு)
- 1 Large Banana (வாழைப்பழம்)
- ⅓ cup Sugar (சீனி)
- ⅛ cup Water (தண்ணீர்)
Instructions
- Mash the banana(s) in a bowl
- Add salt, grated coconut, sugar, and flour to bowl. Mix well
- Slowly add water. Add as needed to get a consistency that is thick, but not stick.
- Make small balls out of the dough and then flatten them into circular shapes
- Cook the rotis on a pan with light oil on medium-high heat. Cook each side for about 2 minutes
